Music

Alyce Jennings has been playing piano since she was 8 and began playing for church services at the age of twelve.  In the past thirty years, she has served as a pianist, organist and worship leader in United Methodist, Nazarene and Lutheran churches.  For the past 15 years, she served as the worship leader at Ravenna Church of the Nazarene.  She also enjoys playing for community theater, most recently playing for The Little Mermaid and Honk!
During the day, she works for Summit County Community Partnership where she coordinates a drug disposal effort which has distributed 70,000 drug deactivation pouches in the past two years, with the focus on reducing access to unused prescription opiates.  She and her husband Jonathan have been married for twenty-one years and have four school-age children.
Alyce is excited to serve Twinsburg UCC – fully embracing the UCC tagline that “whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey – you are welcome here.”

Adult Choir

The goal of music at FCC is to enhance worship in a variety of ways.  We strive to provide music that reaches our members and helps make their experience complete.  One of our finest traditions is our Adult Choir which sings at our Traditional Worship service selected Sundays.  These worship leaders also provide special music throughout the summer months and at our Awakening Service.  No musical experience is necessary to join the choir.  We welcome all who enjoy singing and fellowship. Anyone from Freshman in High School on up is welcome to attend. The Choir sings a variety of music from Traditional to Contemporary.  Won't you join us?

Check the Church Calendar for Choir Practice and Performance dates.

Easter Sunday Anthem 4/16/2017

"Gone" by Eldrige Fox

"Because He Lives" by Bill Gaither

My name is Christine Sterling.  I have grown up here at First Congregational and have had the pleasure of being both a member on staff.  A "joiner" by nature, I serve the church as the Director of Music, but also assist with our Early Service and Altar Guild.  During the week I work for Woodridge Local schools as a kindergarten - 5th grade library and media teacher.  I assist with our Destination Imagination teams, which work to creatively solve STEAM based problems and then compete regionally, state-wide and at the global level.  I also coordinate technology for our building.  When I am not busy with my paid positions, I enjoy helping Boy Scout Troop 155as their Eagle Coordinator.  My husband Jon and I were married in this church in 1996 and we are the proud parents of Walter, a freshman at Mt. Union and Eleanor, a junior at Woodridge.  I love being outside walking my two dogs, Moxie and Blake and exploring my own yard and the wonderful parks around us.
